This is a very famous Turkish Hereke carpet. It's made from wool on cotton combination. They are very high density knots and will last a lifetime. These particular carpets pictured are rare examples of usage of natural vegetable dye colors. Their pattern is called Sivas Star. Blue symbolizes royalty, red of richness and elegance and green of heaven. The production of Hereke carpets is dwindling due to lack of skilled resource and high cost.
